Joe Biden is furious with his Attorney-General Merrick Garland for not covering up his classified documents case. Special Counsel Hur completed his investigation into Biden’s classified documents scandal, and concluded that he should not be charged due to his feeble mental state.
Joe Biden has advertised “integrity”, “respect for the law”, and “protection of democracy” his key differentiation with Trump. The damning report, and his reaction to it, have single-handedly destroyed this,. Politico has the scoop:
Joe Biden has told aides and outside advisers that Attorney General Merrick Garland did not do enough to rein in a special counsel report stating that the president had diminished mental faculties, according to two people close to the president, as White House frustration with the head of the Justice Department grows.
The report from special counsel Robert Hur ultimately cleared Biden of any charges stemming from his handling of classified documents that were found at Biden’s think tank and his home. But Hur’s explanation for not bringing charges — that Biden would have persuaded the jury that he was a forgetful old man — upended the presidential campaign and infuriated the White House.
Senator Josh Hawley is now calling on Garland to either charge Biden or invoke the 25th Amendment, the procedure to depose a President by his cabinet. Charging a sitting President would create a Constitutional Crisis, but the 25th Amendment could give Democrats a better chance in the upcoming election. Fox News reported:
“I’m calling on Garland publicly now to do what I think is required under the law in the Constitution . . . either charge the president, or he will go to the cabinet and tell them, ‘I believe we have to invoke the 25th Amendment.’ He’s got to do one or the other,” Hawley told Fox News Digital in an interview.
“If he doesn’t, it will just confirm what everybody thinks, which is that there are two tiers of justice and that Garland himself is completely complicit in the corruption of this administration,” Hawley said.
Ironically, Biden has fallen in the same trap that Trump did when his Attorney-General accepted a Special Counsel investigation. The difference, however, is that the mainstream media will continue to run cover for Democrats.
