Trump’s support has been riding higher and higher in the last days leading the election. So much so that Trump is conducting some events in Virginia.

Virginia is not a swing state and is absolutely crucial for Harris to win. Campaigning there shows that Trump is willing to go on the offensive. The Hill says:

Former President Trump took a slight detour from his battleground state swing Saturday afternoon, giving remarks to supporters in Virginia.

Trump is expected to target Vice President Harris over inflation, housing prices, and immigration, while arguing that the Biden administration has turned Virginia into a “border state,” according to the campaign. The stop also comes as early voting is set to end in the state.

Polls vary widely and sometimes show major Trump advantages, while a recent one showed Kamala ahead in Iowa. The Washington Post continues:

Trump chose one of Virginia’s reddest corners for his visit, having won Salem with 59 percent of the vote four years ago even as he lost Virginia overall by 10 percentage points. Yet his appearance in the Old Dominion was a bit of a puzzle in the frantic final days of the presidential campaign.

Trump twice lost the state and has been trailing in polls this year since Vice President Kamala Harris assumed the top of the Democratic ticket. Political analysts say the race will come down to seven battleground states, Virginia not among them.

Early voting returns are already showing a Republican advantage compared to 2020. Ultimately, it will come down to Election Day turnout.
