An Israeli plan on how it would strike Iran has been leaked. Chief among the suspects is a Pentagon official from the Biden Administration of Iranian origin.
While the plan could have been hacked, it was likely leaked as many Democrats in government are friendly with Iran and its proxies like Hezbollah. ABC News says:
President Joe Biden is “deeply concerned” about the unauthorized release of classified documents on Israel’s preparation for a potential retaliatory attack on Iran, a White House spokesman said Monday.
The Biden administration is still not certain if the classified information was leaked or hacked, White House national security spokesman John Kirby said. Officials don’t have any indication at this point of “additional documents like this finding their way into the public domain,” he said.
The FBI is now in charge of the mole hunt, though the Pentagon will likely help to complete it. The Jerusalem Post continues:
The FBI is leading the investigation, limiting what Ryder was able to say from the Pentagon’s podium. He declined to answer why the Pentagon is not conducting its own investigation into how the documents leaked.
Last week, two US intelligence documents reportedly disclosing Israel’s plan for a potential retaliatory attack on Iran were leaked and disseminated on a Telegram channel.
While many might disagree on how Israel is waging its war, giving secret documents to an archenemy of America is tantamount to treason.
