Donald Trump is returning to the scene of his assassination in Butler, Pennsylvania. This is a huge moment and a symbolic victory against those who seek to kill him.
Elon Musk, one of Trump’s top supporters, mentioned that he will be going to Butler as well. The Hill reports:
Tech billionaire Elon Musk said he plans to attend former President Trump’s rally in battleground Pennsylvania this weekend, when Trump returns to the site where he survived the first assassination attempt on his life.
“I will be there to support,” Musk wrote in a post late Thursday on the social platform X, which he bought in 2022.
The Secret Service has come under scrutiny following the assassination attempt, as no one has gotten this close to wounding a President since Ronald Reagan in 1981. NY Times reports:
“The responsibility of U.S.S.S. is to protect President Donald J. Trump,” she said. “Based on the sworn testimony, they abdicated that responsibility and their dereliction resulted in President Trump shot in the ear, one death and injuries to others.”
Mr. Eckloff, the former agent, said there is always a give-and-take between the staffs of presidents — or presidential candidates — and the Secret Service about what constitutes acceptable risk.
This new rally could give Trump a boost in Pennsylvania, though the race is still far from over.
