Robert Kennedy Jr. is allegedly about to drop out of the Presidential race. Sources say that he will be endorsing Trump in a speech to the nation.
Rumors had been circulating that . Although a Democrat, Kennedy’s policies have been dramatically out of step with the Democrat Party, portraying himself as a counter-cultural candidate rather than a conventional follower. NBC says:
Robert F. Kennedy Jr. intends to end his independent presidential campaign and endorse former President Donald Trump, according to two sources familiar with the plans.
The sources cautioned that talks are ongoing but said there will be clarity by the end of the week. One of the sources said the campaigns are working toward a joint appearance.
His running mate, Nicole Shanahan, has said that the risk of a Kamala Presidency was too high to stay in the race. While a former Democrat herself, she is also seeing Harris’ economic and governmental policies as overreaching and risking America’s safety. Fox News continues:
When the campaign began, Fox Kennedy explained, none of the national leaders were discussing chronic disease or the “corporate capture of our government.”
“What I can tell you is this. Bobby has been in a period of deep discernment. It has been clear to him for some weeks now that our movement will decide the future of the country,” she wrote. “Any path forward changes the outcome. With calcified support on both sides of the aisle, this 10+% of the electorate is the only molten force in the race. And as the leader carving the path to which we flow, Bobby feels the weight of that responsibility, shifting, as he is, the very landscape of American history.”
A Kennedy endorsement could lend Trump some crucial support, but his followers are not necessarily devoted to him. While the challenger, Trump is nevertheless the candidate for tried and true policies rather than continued expansion of the federal government.
