Ilhan Omar, a top member of the left-wing “Squad”, is facing a consequential primary. Her stalwart support for Gaza and Hamas has placed her in the crosshairs of AIPAC.

Two other members of the Squad, Jamaal Bowman and Cori Bush, have already been knocked out in primaries. Bush was famous for her support of riots in Ferguson, while Bowman inexplicably pulled the fire alarm while Congress was in session. The Hill reports:

Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-Minn.) will look to survive a primary challenge Tuesday night in what has been a rough election cycle for progressive “squad”members.

Progressive Reps. Jamaal Bowman (D-N.Y.) and Cori Bush (D-Mo.) lost hotly contested primaries in recent months, underscoring Democratic divisions over Israel and the war in Gaza.

The turn against the Squad is counterintuitive, as Kamala is moving the party closer to the Gaza position. Leftists are mobilizing to protect their radical Congressmen in the Upper Midwest. Fox News says:

But Samuels, in an interview Monday on Fox News’ “America’s Newsroom,” said he’s seen a surge in his fundraising and in volunteers to his campaign in the week since Bush’s defeat. And he said Omar is “divisive and combative. She picks a side including, simply trying to divide her, her constituency, and ignores the other side.”

Minnesota’s primary comes a week after Vice President Harris named the state’s governor, Gov. Tim Walz, as her running mate on the Democrat 2024 ticket. And an old clip of Walz praising Omar has gone viral in recent days.

Tim Walz’s own pro-Gaza position is being heralded by the “uncommitted movement”, those who refused to back Biden for his support for Israel.
