Trump Could Win This Blue State

Donald Trump could be on track to win Virginia in 2024. This would be a major upset for Democrats who have won the state since 2004. Virginia had consistently voted for a Republican since the 1964, which changed with Obama’s election in 2008.

A reason for this shift is the influx of Democrat voters into Northern Virginia due to the growth of the deep state since 9/11. Things could be set for change however. Fox News says:

Democrats have carried the state in four straight presidential elections, including President Biden’s 10-point victory over Donald Trump four years ago as he won the White House.

But GOP Gov. Glenn Youngkin thinks the former president has a very good shot of ending the Republican losing streak in Virginia as Trump faces off this autumn with Biden in a 2024 election rematch.

Youngkin’s election points towards a slight shift away from the Democrat party, though it might not be enough for Trump. The large military presence in Virginia and Biden’s failed foreign policy could be the reason here. The Hill continues:

“Virginia is a must-win state for Biden, so a tight race here is going to require some serious defense from his campaign to hold it,” said Democratic pollster Chris Anderson, who conducted the Fox News Poll, noting that it’s not impossible for Biden to hold on to his lead.

The polling, released one week after Trump’s conviction in his New York hush money case, found that 66 percent of Virginians say the guilty verdict won’t have an impact on their vote.

If Biden lost Virginia, he would be virtually guaranteed to lose the Presidency. The close polling will further stretch Democrat efforts to defend Biden’s record away from key states, giving Trump an edge.
