Tulsi Gabbard, the former congresswoman from Hawaii, has recently suffered a tragedy. Her aunt Caroline Sinaviana-Gabbard was murdered while in Samoa by someone known to her, though investigations are still ongoing prior to a trial.

Sinaviana-Gabbard, an English professor, was found deceased at her friend’s home. Her body showed signs of homicide, which likely resulted from a dispute. The nature of it, however, is unknown. The NY Post says:

The aunt of ex-Democratic Hawaiian Congresswoman Tulsi Gabbard was stabbed multiple times and beaten with a hammer during a fight with her protege in Samoa last month, according to a report.

Dr. Caroline Sinaviana-Gabbard, 78, was found dead on May 25 inside award-winning Samoan playwright Papalii Sia Figiel’s home in Vaivase-Uta, according to Spectrum News.

Mike Gabbard, Tulsi’s father, described his close relationship with his aunt. Although he forgives the murderer in a Christian sense, he still wants her to be punished to the greatest extent of the law. Fox News says:

“Caroline was my best friend as a teenager,” Mike Gabbard said in a statement to Spectrum News.

“She helped me considerably during my rebellious stage of adolescence. She got me hooked on reading, so much so that I followed in her footsteps and majored in English at Sonoma State University in California, then returned to our birthplace, American Samoa, where I taught English in high schools and was a faculty member, guidance counselor and dean at the community college for many years.”

Tulsi Gabbard has been in the news recently, as a potential running mate for Trump. A former Democrats, she has aligned with conservatives on core cultural and foreign policy issues. While unlikely that she takes the #2 spot, she would likely be involved in a 2025 Trump Administration.
