The FBI is conducting an investigation into the mayor of Dolton Village, one of the most corrupt local governments in the country. Mayor Tiffany Henyard has been accused of pillaging the government coffers and distributing favors to her supporters.

Dolton Village had attracted attention when the mayor was accused of using the police to shake down businesses for campaign contributions. Henyard has been denying permits to those who do not fully support her, including churches. ABC 7 Chicago says:

In a statement, an FBI spokesperson said agents were “conducting court-authorized law enforcement activity in that area.” They declined to comment on the nature of the raid or any investigation they may be conducting, citing Department of Justice policy.

Sources told ABC7 that FBI agents served two subpoenas at Dolton Village Hall to obtain personnel records, including those of police officers, as well as business records.

The first target of the raid has been her top aide, Keith Freeman, as well as three police officers. Chances are that Henyard will be next, and Freeman will most likely testify against her in exchange for a lighter sentence. Fox News continues:

The first one was for employment records, personnel files, and disciplinary reports for 25 Dolton employees, including three police officers and Keith Freeman, who is the village administrator and Henyard’s top aide. Freeman was charged with bankruptcy fraud on Monday.

The second subpoena was served specifically for Freeman, asking for records of all companies associated with him and possible ties to the village.

Dolton Village is a dangerous example of what could happen to America if Democrats maintain a permanent grip on power. Without an independent court, the government could act like a mafia with no repercussions.
