Trump smashed his previous fundraising records, hauling more than $50 million over a fundraising dinner in Florida.

This more than twice what Biden raised at his New York event. Biden is concentrating his fundraising effort on high value donors, as small donors who are traditionally on the left are mostly upset with him over his Israel policies. The NY Post says:

Former President Trump’s campaign raked in $50.5 million at an exclusive fundraiser dinner with billionaires in Florida on Saturday.

The haul more than doubles the record $25 million raised at President Biden’s star-studded event at  Radio City Music Hall last month and fattens the GOP’s coffers just months away from the November election.

Paragraph

Trump is still behind Biden by close to $100 million, a gap he will have to close in order to get his message out. Democrats have held a financial advantages both times they went against Trump. Fox News continues:

Though the fundraiser is expected to take in tens of millions, Trump still needs to close the gap with his Democratic rival, incumbent President Biden, who is reported to have around $192 million on hand compared with just over $93 million for Trump.

Biden’s campaign said he raised more than $26 million during a fundraising appearance late last month at New York City’s famed Radio City Music Hall with former Presidents Barack Obama and Bill Clinton.

As incumbent, Biden can claim credit for positive turns of events but will also suffer if voters want to return to Trump’s booming economic climate. With COVID officially gone, many Americans are ready to go back to when America was on an upward trajectory.
