Will Biden Be Impeached?

The House Impeachment Committee is slowly losing steam in its investigation of Joe Biden. While the committee is slowly uncovering evidence of Biden’s corruption, the GOP’s margin for votes in the House is becoming worse.

With the impeachment of Mayorkas only barely passing, an attempt at impeaching Biden could fail spectacularly, hurting Republicans politically. The next year could see close to no movement on the affair, unless Republicans grow their House majority in the November election. Yahoo News says:

The impeachment inquiry House Republicans launched into President Joe Biden may not end with an impeachment vote, House Oversight Chair James Comer, R-Ky., admitted in a recent interview with Spectrum News.

Speaking to the news source last week, Comer indicated that the House holding a vote is decreasingly likely because the “math keeps getting worse” for the GOP, a statement reflecting Republican’s narrowing majority and internal skepticism about the merits of the investigation, Mediaite reports.

Biden’s shady business dealings have so far not been connected back to him. While financial improprieties might not be proved enough for impeachment, Biden could still be impeached for a political catastrophe happening before Election Day. Regardless, his removal will be unlikely due to a Democrat controlled Senate. The Washington Examiner reports:

Despite formalizing the impeachment inquiry last month into whether Biden improperly benefited from his son Hunter’s foreign business dealings in Ukraine and China, Comer’s leadership in the yearslong investigation is being questioned by Republicans, as no evidence of high crimes and misdemeanors has been produced.

“James Comer continues to embarrass himself and House Republicans,” a source close to GOP leadership told the Messenger. “He screws up over and over and over. I don’t know how Republicans actually impeach the president based on his clueless investigation and lack of leadership.”

Comer’s position on the committee could be jeopardized if it fails to produce political victories for Republicans. Continuing the committee until the election will probably be necessary, as Biden could claim exoneration if it is shut down.
