Is Kamala Making a Move Against Biden?

In an interview with the Wall Street Journal, Kamala said she was “ready to serve” when questioned about the Democrat succession crisis.

Rumors abound that Kamala Harris’ and Joe Biden’s staffs have been at each other’s throats. Kamala Harris’ 2020 campaign went hard against Biden, accusing him of racism when the topic of busing came up.The Hill says:

Vice President Harris said she’s ready for the presidency in an interview last week, amid concerns about President Biden’s age. 

“I am ready to serve. There’s no question about that,” Harris told the Wall Street Journal when asked about the challenge of convincing voters she’s up for the job. 

Biden selected Harris as a gesture towards the radical fringe of the Democrat party. Her “intersectional credentials” were seen as important, even though her own campaign foundered before Iowa. Fox News continues:

Republicans piled on Biden following the Hur report’s release last week, but Democrats have also begun voicing — or at least admitting — greater concern surrounding Biden’s age and whether that could hurt his chances at winning re-election this year.

Former President Bill Clinton’s lead strategist, James Carville, argued Saturday that the White House has little confidence in Biden after he turned down a Super Bowl Sunday interview.

With Biden’s mental acuity seriously challenged, Democrats have been scrambling for alternatives. Kamala and Newsome both appear to be the favored heirs, but the entire coalition could fight amongst themselves over the Israel-Gaza War.
