Here’s How the GOP Primary Went Down in New Hampshire

Trump has defeated Niki Haley in the New Hampshire primary, beating her by 11 points for a total of 55%. This is a bigger voting share for Trump than how he performed in Iowa, proving that many DeSantis supporters flocked to the former President.

Niki Haley was expected to perform well in the state, due to its more liberal Republican electorate. Trump’s dominance in the state comets his status as clear favorite and puts the future of the primary in question. Fox News describes the results:

Eight days after he crushed the competition in Iowa’s low-turnout Republican presidential caucuses, Trump easily defeated Nikki Haley – his final remaining major rival for the GOP nomination – in Tuesday’s New Hampshire primary.

For Haley, a former two-term South Carolina governor who served as U.N. ambassador in the Trump administration, the New Hampshire primary was likely her best and possibly last chance to slow down or derail the former president’s march towards renomination.

New Hampshire also had a controversial Democratic primary. The results were disqualified due to the rearranged schedule which privileges Biden’s political allies in the South. Biden still won with write in votes. The Daily Caller explains how the Democratic primary went:

President Joe Biden, who did not appear on the ballot due to the Democratic National Committee’s (DNC’s) new calendar, won the New Hampshire Democratic primary as a write-in candidate, according to the AP. Minnesota Rep. Dean Phillips followed at 20.4% ahead of self-help author Marianne Williamson at 4.6%.

None of the Democrats will receive delegates from New Hampshire, as the state decided to keep its first-in-the-nation status.

New Hampshire hasn’t voted for a Republican since George Bush in 2000. Trump is not expected to secure the state in the general election, but the Democrat’s delegate change could potentially have an effect on down ballot races.
